Chocolate may be a healthy food choice under some conditions:
- have at least 80% cocoa content
- cocoa beans are processed without alkalization
- you eat no more than 30-40gr/day.
As you can infer the typical case of a chocolate eater is much, much different. They consume big quantities of cheap, low cocoa content, sugar laden chocolate.
While rightly processed cocoa beans are full of flavonoids, antioxidants, catechins etc,the final products sold on the super markets' shelves are mere catastrophe.
Mindless use of such chocolate products is a passport for obesity and diabetes.
Recommendation: eat small quantities of chocolate very rich in cocoa which is organic and non-alkalized.
To your great health!
