WEIGHT TRAINING: HOW MANY SETS SHOULD I DO?

CHECK ALSO:

MUSCLE BUILDING/DEVELOPMENT:ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

For the amateurs 2-3 sets for each exercise is a very logical number.

You can do one exercise for each muscle group except for legs and back for which you can choose two exercises.

Do not fall victims of exaggeration. One set is a little and 4 sets will not make a difference according to the law of diminishing returns.

My workouts comprise 2 or 3 sets from very carefulyt chosen compound exercises.

- squats
- stiff legged deadlifts
- military presses
- chest presses and flies
- two handed bent rows

Only seldom do I perform isolation exercises.

Points of attention

- exercise no more than 3 times per week
- use decent loading and stop playing
- use about 8 repetitions
- reduce drastically the breaks between sets
- do not exercise for more than 20'

To your great health!
